Conservation International, an international organization, is seeking INTERNATIONAL applicants for senior level technical and management positions for the following.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (ED) for INDONESIA PROGRAM- Based in Jakarta
The Executive Director (ED; is responsible for programmatic oversight and leads the design, Implementation, and monitoring of Conservation International’s (CI’s) conservation and human well-being strategy in Indonesia. The ED leads and co-ordinates CI-Indonesia’s, Senior Management Team, the Implementers of that strategy, in their efforts to achieve planned strategic outcomes. The ED role leads due diligence and designs and supervises implementation of capacity building that strengthens partners’ technical capabilities in alignment with the CI’s MOU with the Indonesia Ministry of Forestry and Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and other ministries relevant to CI Indonesia programs. Representing CI, the ED will establish and maintain key networks, relationships and partnerships both Internally and externally (Including CI global fund-raising division and business units; multilateral agencies, government bodies, conservation NGOs, private sector partners and scientific agencies).The position requires an advanced degree relevant to natural resource management and/or at least 10+ years experience with natural resource management work or relevant related field; complete familiarity with the major natural resource management and biodiversity conservation Issues In Indonesia along with proven ability in project conceptualization; and well developed leadership, team building and managerial skills.

GREEN ECONOMIES DIRECTOR (GED) – Based in Jakarta
Develops and Implements “Green Economies” at national scale, requiring a multidisciplinary focus on economics, spatial planning, private sector engagement, engagement, markets for ecosystem services, policy and a practical understanding of opportunities in the country. S/he will guide the development of strategic initiatives for resource mobilization, including successful proposals for competitive grants and able to both create green Jobs, ensure real, sustainable economic growth, and prevent environmental pollution, global warming, resource depletion, and environmental degradation. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in environmental economics or related field; 10+ years of professional, innovative exp. in application of economics in conservation or development-, Strong leadership and vision; evidence of working with multidisciplinary teams In a non-hierarchical manner.

OPERATION DIRECTOR (OD) – Based in Jakarta
Responsible for and oversee the Finance, Human Resources, Grants Management, Legal, IT and Administrative functions of the program. S/he will guide the program to develop and implement sustainable management strategies, support fund raising/business development efforts, set standards related to operational management and ensure that human and financial resources are aligned and maximized for the greatest conservation impact-S/he will ensure compliance with local and global standards, policies and practices. Qualifications: Master’s Degree Finance and/or Business Administration with 7-10 years related experience in management of operations (administration, finance, human resources, grants resources and donor management) functions, preferably for an international NGO, experience with diverse funding environment including US and European governments, multi-laterals, and large foundations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in English and proficient in relevant and appropriate software (MS Excel, high-end accounting packages etc). Note expatriates unable to fill this position.

PAPUA PROGRAM MANAGER (PPM) – Based in Jayapura
The Mamberamo Program Manager ensures efficient and necessary financial oversight and operational and technical Input for the planning, Implementation, reporting and evaluation of the Mamberamo and Merauke Landscapes Program The position is responsible for budget spent in Jayapura, coordination of administration of Jayapura Office, staffing matters and compliance of CI policy. The position is also responsible for leading dialogue with partners and promoting Conservational International with national and international institutions. Qualifications: Masters degree , education (natural science subject preferred) with 5-4 years experience In Y-conservation or natural resource management In Indonesia, SE Asia or Melanesia and exp. of working) with rural communities, 2 years of Program management experience within a conservation NGO or similar organization.
